Does your puppy nip, chew, bark, jump on you, house-soil or dig? We will help you understand your puppy's nuisance behaviors, establish your leadership and build a solid foundation for future learning while building confidence.

This class is for puppies 8-16 weeks of age. Classes are offered on Thursday evenings and are held once a week for 8 weeks.

This course will prepare you and your dog for the canine Good Citizen exam offered by the American Kennel Club (AKC). The purpose of the canine good citizen test is to ensure that your dog can be a respected member of the community because it is trained and conditioned to act mannerly in the home, in public places and in the presence of other dogs. At the end of this course a certificate will be awarded to those who pass the exam.
This course is only offered twice yearly, so check with Kimm Pontiff for the next available date. It is held once a week for 4 weeks.

Charlotte Schwartz lives in Fort Myers, Florida. She is a member of American Pet Dog Trainers, Anglo-American Dog Trainers, Dog Writers Association of America, and a life member of both Lenape Tracking Club of New Jersey and the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors.
She was the founder and owner of Brandy Lane Dog Training School in New Jersey until 1983. She then moved to Australia to teach obedience classes to owners and dog behavior classes to veterinarians in Tasmania.
She is now the dog behavior consultant at Coral Veterinary Clinic in Fort Myers where she also teaches all levels of obedience. She has also taught at Edison Community College and the Lee County Humane Society.
An author, Schwartz has written many books on dogs and their behavior including books for Howell Book House, TFH Publications, Animalia Ltd. in the United Kingdom and Kennel Club Books in the U.S. She is the originator of the View From The Floor dog training techniques and presenter of many seminars with the View. She has written many single breed books on such breeds as German Shepherd Dogs, Miniature Schnauzers, Shetland Sheepdogs, Dachshunds, Australian Cattle Dogs, Australian Kelpies, Australian Shepherds, and Miniature Pinschers. Recent titles include books on Housetraining, Behavior Problems, Dog Sports, and Kindergarten Puppy Training.
She is a columnist for FORWARD MAGAZINE and Chairman of the Health and Welfare Committee of NADOI.
She is the recipient of two Gaines Medals for good sportsmanship and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Philadelphia Police K-9 Corps.
She was the owner/trainer of the only Ibizan Hound in the world to earn a Tracking Dog title from the American Kennel Club. She also owned and trained the eighth Miniature Schnauzer in the U.S. to earn a TD and receive international recognition for bovine estrus detection and buried plastic detection.
